Program Description:
Student Teaching Abroad enables students to spend one teaching placement abroad practicing their teaching skills in a unique environment. International student teaching placements are based on a number of factors - availability of appropriate sites, housing options, coop teachers in matching levels or subject areas, etc.

Benefits 

  • Provides an opportunity for teaching candidate to practice their skills in an international setting. 
  • Gain non-U.S. perspective on world events. 
  • Allows participants to bring international knowledge and perspective to their instruction in the U.S. 
  • Teach in a multi-cultural and/or bilingual setting 

Application Considerations

  • Must be fully accepted into the teacher education program in order to apply. 
  • Must be a student in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Understands locations/placements are chosen for a best match for educational and professional growth - not to fulfill personal travel or adventure preferences. 
  • Must complete all student teaching placement requirements through the Concordia St. Paul Education Department.
